Hi! I am new here and to running alternative fuels. I own a bus (1983 RTS II) that I use as a motorhome and I want to run alternative fuels in it. I first wanted to do wvo but that stuff is impossible for me to get in my area. However there is an abundance of wmo and vacuum pump oil (but I dont know what vacuum pump oil is) that I can get from various sources. Sooo, I am thinking about setting up a still to filter the oil down to 1 or 2 microns and using magnets to remove any metals in them. I am also wondering if it should be heated in a two tank system like vo or blended with #2. Is there any modifications I should have my brother do to my engine or things I should be aware of? Does anyone know of anyone who claims to run wmo in an engine like mine?

I have run 10% WMO in those DD 8V92s with 90% D2, never any problems, helpped get rid of old motor oil..
my experience with that motor, was always good, they were almost indestructable, always dripped a littl oil, but run 400K no prob. on a 30000lb. bus around 7mpg.

my guess would to run 50-50 WVO-to ULSD, carry some spare filters, learn how to change them(very easy),, change motor oil at 5K-7K.

YUP! if i owned one now, it would run on WVO blend.

and you can get smaller injectors, for better mpg, most buses were over powered for realistic performance, nobody has to run 100mph!!
