Has anyone seen this before? http://www.greenbenz.com/ It's a site that is converting old mercs to run on a one tank SVO system with something to make electrolysis happen and then put the hydrogen and oxygen back in through the engine to give the car more MPG. Any comments?

interesting. Must be they who just sold a conversion like this on Ebay. Didn't realize they were a company pushing this idea.

Hate seeing stuff like this. Gives all us legit veg fuel guys a bad reputation

I found the company via ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mercedes-Benz-300-Series...dZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Only $3150, too bad there are no pictures of the conversion / engine.

You can get a reputable two tank kit for that amount.

I bought one of Green-benz cars & drove it a few weeks; fine in warm weather, had to mix 20% diesel below 50°F. For other reasons (not completing repairs per sales contract) I ended up taking him to small claims. After 6 months from appeal, I finally won a settlement and returned the car. What a relief; a lesson in WVO & ebay.

There are a lot of easier ways to learn about WVO. I am sorry you "got the short end of the stick" with Green-Benz. I have not heard anything good about this guy. I hope your experience has not turned you off to the idea of owning a WVO fueled vehicle. There was a time when I would have been excomunicated from the family if I brought home a Diesel, but now I have 5! I always thought of them as smelly and polluting, but that has changed for me!

Well, I revisited their website and it's completely different. They no longer offer a car with hydrogen option on it.

According the Better Business Bureau, Green-Benz (greenbenz.com) aka Auto-USA has earned an "F" rating. From the BBB Rating Explanation:

"We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices."

John Harrison is a CROOK! He was arrested (finally!) and is now facing criminal charges of felonious auction fraud. He advertises beautiful cars on eBay, but then sends a completely different (and practically worthless) car instead of the one featured in the listings. I know this first hand, as I am the not so proud owner of one of his heaps. When it arrived, it barely ran. There was no air filter, the brakes, lights, and myriad other mechanical systems were non-functioning. When I reported to eBay what had happened, and that Harrison was in fact under criminal investigation (and had already been taken to court previously for the same offense) the only action eBay took was to delete my negative rating and tell me to stop bothering them. I later found out that several other zero ratings before me had also been deleted by eBay, giving Harrison the appearance of a "100% positive feedback! rating, which is BS. There was nothing I could do, as the LA cops weren't interested, and he declared bankruptcy before I could sue him.

However, luck intervened, and another woman who was in the process of buying a car from him after me saw one of my posts and contacted me about it. After seeing all my evidence, she got her local cops to set up a sting, and that's how Harrison finally got busted. He is set to appear in court April 27. Thank God! I hope he does time. He has defrauded me, and at least seven other people that I am now in contact with, out of thousands and thousands of dollars. Apparently his wife left him, too.

If anyone wants more details (photos of the car I received, versus what was advertised, etc.), feel free to contact me directly at swinggrrly at yahoo dot com.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM JOHN HARRISON OR GREEN-BENZ. He is a fraud, a cheat, and a HORRIBLE mechanic!
