See my previous thread regarding fatty mix:
http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/ev...751014871/m/44310725
This mix is inside a 20L plastic drum (about US5 gallon), with a small pourer hole about 50ml. Since its fatty, it needs to be melted for removal. My plan (if it makes sense) is to insert a 200w aquarium heater into the drum and heat the stuff up for a day, then pour it into an open top garbage bin and pour a couple of Litres of boiling water into it, then mix it up and see if it settles out. Any comments? a) The heater is meant to do 35 deg C which should be plenty. b) the water mix is based on another thread in this forum.

"it settles out" what "it"? The boiling water is likely to create a messy emulsion. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
According to the topic subject you want to melt the used fryer oil. Yes the aquarium heater will melt the oil and fat. Speed up the process by insulating the container. If there is any clear oil present it will rise to the top as the mix cools.

Cool the mix to the temperature you expect the vehicle fuel system to operate at. Use only the clear oil that separates for blending in a cold tank system.

Of course I want to settle the fat out. Not having done this before and read this (elsewhere on forum):
"cutakenta -- Filtering -- My current method is to do a rough filtering of the collected oil as it is moved from my vacuum collection tank into a wash/settling barrel, I run the oil through a couple layers of window screen to remove the chunks then through a couple of layers of womans stockings to catch the larger bits of breading from the batter used when deepfrying meat. I add 10% clean water to the oil and stir it into a nice peanutbuttered emulsion with a drill powered paint stirrer, this is kept above 70 deg f and allowed to settle for at least 7 days. Water gets absorbed by the food bits, they swell up, stick together, and drop to the bottom of the barrel as what looks exactly like pancake batter, this leaves very clean oil above the batter."

However suspect the OP is about clean oil with bits floating in it. What I have is the peanut butter all the way through, so it might be a wasted exercise warming it up however adding the water and mixing is a trial process all I wanted to know is if anyone had done similar here before? Or, if there was a recommended alternative to separate the fat from the good oil which this stuff originally was.
Cheers,
Al.

That information was provided in the message which you quoted, twice.
