Biodiesel and diesel are mixed all the time and sold as B5, B20, B50 etc...
I have no idea what "adurated" means.

Biodiesel blends well with just about every other form of fuel, in any proportion.

The big question is why you are blending.

If you are just getting multiple fuel sources, I assume you can just dump it in the tank and go, assuming it isn't too cold.

If you are wanting to thin the fuel for winter driving, then make sure it is well mixed. Also, choose appropriate fuels to mix with for the desired effect. Kerosene (#1 fuel oil) is somewhat lighter than diesel and may be better for thinning.

Q:I have been mixing right in the tank of all of my vehicles in winter months up to 50/50 bd and petro. The only vehicle I have problems with is my 99 dodge. Plugs filters w/ white "slime". Do you think mixing thoroughly @ room temp and then filling tank would maybe solve this problem. I'm wondering if the 24 valve engine has a finer filter system than the other vehicles I run (older 12 valve dodges, farm equipment, '84 2.2 ltr. isuzu) and won't let the unmixed and clouding bio through and maybe the filters on my other engines will???

Hello JDS, I doubt seriously that making any effort to agitate your fuel mix will improve it remaining in solution. It will either remain in solution or not, and especially not if you have any animal fat in your WVO, because petroleum distillates do not seem to do anything for animal fat.

My guess is your second speculation, that the fuel filter might be finer on your diesel vehicle that has the problems. Or, maybe the fuel filter is inadequate in size.

Hi JDS,

Where are you getting your biodiesel? Sounds like your white slime is the gelling from the cold. Do you know if the stock it was produced from had animal fats? Mixing at room temperature will not prevent the clouding. Talk to the biodiesel producer or reseller. If it is not ASTM, ask what temps they use it to for a guideline.

If I were you, I wouldn't mess around with anything other than what the manufacturer recommends in your 15 year and younger passenger diesels.

Aloha!
