The 1" Clear water pump (P/N 1479) seems to be generally recommended for use with the Appleseed processor. Can anyone tell me if this is a capacitor start motor incorporating a centrifugal starting switch (spark risk in gaseous situations) or if it is something else such as a permanent capacitor motor having no internal starting switch. Has this ever been a concern to anyone?
It's spec sheet shows 330gph with a maximum head lift (output) of 115 feet at 65.5 feet per minute. I have read in a forum somewhere that it is inadequate in certain installations. Would someone be able to advise the approximate maximum processor capacity that this pump can effectively handle. Presumably head lift wouldn't be much of a consideration (or is it?) as this would only be about 6 feet or so.
Many thanks.

I have recently built the Applessed on a 50 gallon h20 heater and the cheap pump is all you need. If you like, buy a more expensive pump but you do not have to. At 24.99 you can buy 5 or 6 before you could pay for a name brand pump from a commercial pump retailer to do the same thing the cheap one does. My advise is to not put the appleseed tank on the second floor and the pump in the cellar and you will be fine. All joking aside just mount the pump next to the tank and you should be A OK. I remind you I am very new to the appleseed but so far no problems with the cheap pump. My problems are not with the design and construction of the tank but with the titration of dirty (lots of ffa) WVO. I was ready to do SVO but I was afraid of my Duramax engine going south and decided to BIO it instead. Seems safer to run BIO blend than Diesel SVO blend. CB

No matter how low your pump is wouldn't matter. the head on the pump is going to be equal to the differance of processor fluid level to the input on your processor. the liquid level gets pressure and will equalize as long as you have a centrifigal pump. if you have a pusitive displacement pump then it will get input pressure from the heigth of the fluid and that will make the pump have a higher output pressure still equaling the same thing.

basically if your processor input is 6" above the level it is filled to then it doesn't matter. It will just slow down flow when filling the tank from an outside source.
