I am in the process of creating a tandem waterheater processor. observing the position of the upper element in relation to the pressure relief valve it appears that the upper element would be submersed in oil. what is the reason everyone disconnects it

Read some other posts and see that you need room for meth and cat. I think I'll just put a doubble throw switch on the upper element so I can use the extra element in the tank for dewatering
