I ended up using black pipe. I think I may change to PVC. I'm using a poly wash tank & metal drying tank. I'm almost finshed with the modifed gadgetarius model. I'll call you for the 1st brew.

A 2" black bung w/ 3/4" inside bushing fits into the NPT opening of a poly barrel. You can easily thread both ends of the 3/4" with a 3/4" pipe tap ($15 new) on the inside (only the inside needs this). Then screw a close nip on the outside, and your riser to the inside. I like to tighten them until there is no gap between the two pipes. You can feel inside through the close nip. The pipe will solidly stop turning at that point.

I sell a port for the 2 inch bungs that has two 3/4 inch NPT fittings threaded on both sides. I make them in steel and plastic. Sorry for hijacking the thread.
