hey all i have a question. How many of you have had your bio tested according to astm tests? If so which ones?
Also would any of you be interested in paying say 200 bucks to get the more critical tests done on your bio? Tests like free and total glycerin, water by KF titration, cloud pt, cold soak filtration, flash point, TAN and TBN #, soap #. Tests that directly relate to your production methods? keep in mind Each one of these tests would normally cost around $50-100.
Im toying around the idea of letting homebrewers send in their samples to be tested to our lab, but at a lower cost since we are still setting up our tests/methods. So what do you guys think anyone interested? Thanks.

I'd be interested. It would be a great option for many of us. Let us know if you want to pursue it in the future.

To avoid complications mail it as a 'gift' of homemade Canadian Canola syrup.
Sending items across the border as gifts considerably reduces complications and moves them much faster.

my email is cmdixon1@gmail.com
please send me an email and we can discuss options. You can send biodiesel regular mail as it is not a class 2 liquid. This is assuming it has been demethylated.
tentative schedule of tests i can run:
-Free and total glycerin (ASTM 6584)
-Soap content
-Total acid number/base number
-water by karl fishcer titration
-cloud pt.
-cold soak filtration
-flashpoint by pensky-martens

I am in the pacific northwest. Any homebrewers interested please contact me and we can figure out the details thanks!

I know you're kidding, but for anyone else that might decide to not honestly declare your shipment of HazMat, PLEASE DO NOT!!! If something goes wrong, you could kill people. Even if nothing goes wrong, if they open a package and find undeclared HazMat, you will probably go to jail and/or have a very hefty fine.

BTW, Biodiesel sample is not classified as HazMat, but carbide is...
