I acquired a really nice 1.6L Rabbit Caddy Truck. I was given a tranny cooler to put in the tank that's going in the tool box, but I'm thinking of putting a Hot Fox there instead and a FPHE under the hood. Are 16 plates enough?

Also, would you loop the return? I do it on my MB 300SD and I don't see the problem on a 6-port Pollack.

Oh, the guy (an expert mech) put on a a 90A alternator so that opens up all kinds of possibilities, particularly for a Diesel Craft on-the-road filtration system. I have mine in a stationary plant and it's a dream!

If there are thing's I'm missing, please let me know.

16 plate heat exchanger should be fine ... how cold is it where you are? below 30f? if so you may need some wvo tank heat... I run up and down the west coast with out a heated tank I get 160 f to 190f at the ip no problem

Looks good ... how is it mounted. I cant tell. Nice job insulating the pump, by the way. Would a 26 FPHE be too much? At least for most days? If so, I was thinking I could switch on independently a Vegtherm for that last shot of heat if needed, but you seem to think I won't.

It gets down to the 15-20 around here on a rare week. I have a tank I'll place in a tool box in the bed. How did you run your WVO to under the hood?

The truck has a 90A alternator. I was thinking about a pad heater by the outlet to warm up that area and then avoiding the hose-in-hose. Any thoughts? I'd like to do the HIH if there's enough room underneath.

One more thing, Omar. Do you have a separate return on your WVO? Since I don't return WVO on my MB, I was thinking of not having one on the Rabbit. The down side is the build up of pressure which has tended to blow the injector return lines. Clamps have seemed to work but I was trying to get your opinion. To return or not return ...

I have run a looped return on the rabbit for years no problem.
I am on the road right now you can look at the u tube video here

I would run a hose on hose from your wvo tank under the truck however I would use a cover over the hose on hose ( like pvc ) to protect the hose on hose. just a thought
Omar

ps 26 plate is overkill for the vw use a 16 plate
