So im about to start on my first conversion. here is the diagram for my setup if anyone would like to critique it or just lemme know what you think of it. Any problems as well.

I have a 1993 ford E350 7.3L
Using a 26 plate heat exchanger
racor 900 turbine series filter.
and a vegtherm when needed.
the Valves are 3-way manual ball valves.

The drip return "T"s into the shared return line.
The 1st valve determines the fuel.
The 2nd valve determines weather it returns to the diesel tank or the shared feed line while in VO mode.
The vegtherm will switch off during diesel mode so as not to heat the diesel.

thanx in advance. Cant wait to get started

Thats about like my system.I loop the return, but I use fattywagon injection line heaters to insure injection temp is right.
I have heard mixed reviews on vegithrems.
I also wrap all filters and fuel lines with aluminum tape.
Good luck.

have you had problems with air in your system since there is no return to VO tank?

No when changing filters,I run for a few minutes out of loop to purge air.My electric fuel pump pushes both fuels,so bleeding is fast.

Returning hot veggie to a tank will cause moisture to form.Diesel fuel is returned to cool the fuel.

I'm curious to hear what people have to say about the four way valve thing. It sounds good, but I will think on it and see if my mind comes up with any issues.
Interesting to see the differences in opinion about air (see the posts on the f%$brid forums). The one guy says he just bleeds the air when he changes the filter (is that sufficient? I'd be interested to hear other opinions on this) and a guy on the other forum says (as I've heard many people say over the years) that you NEED to have at least part time return to your veg tank.
Regardless, you would bleed air out when you purge, but like I've said, I'm not sure at all about returning veg to the diesel tank.

so like I said, I think if you want a two valve system, you will either be doing a full time loop or fulltime return. I think it was a good try to loop veg and then return diesel, because it does work through the air issue. But does not deal with the veg in diesel tank thing.
I think a looped/return hybrid is the way to go. I'm hoping that the 4-way valve idea works, or you're going to need three valves, or you're going to have a full-time return system.

So i have a bunch of new concerns about hose size and pressures while switching hose sizes.
here is a sketch of the stock layout Vs. what my VO layout will be.

In the stock layout the diesel filter has a 5/16" line going to it and a 1/4" coming out of it and going to the IP. Im wondering how or where would be the best location to make the switch from 5/16" to the 1/4" pipe going to the IP. And would there be any pressure problems.

There are a couple other hose changes that i think might have the same problem.

if anyone sees anything worth mentioning, please do.

I run 2 electric fuel pumps Walbro 5 and I return the wvo to the wvo tank and diesel to the diesel tank. I put 2 new tanks in the truck as I got tired of changing filters. 93 7.3 crew cab.
