Yes, air pockets can destroy a motor and the temperature gauge can show normal temps because the water isn't really circulating. Remove the radiator cap run the motor and squeeze and release the top radiator hose until all the air is out. Some manufacturers fit a bleed valve. This only happens in cars where the top of the radiator is lower than the water passages in the head. |
