The three most common "medium size" centrifuges out there are:
1) Simple Centrifuge http://www.simplecentrifuge.com 2) Absolute Centrifuge http://www.absolutecentrifuge.com 3) WVO Designs Raw Power Centrifuge http://www.wvodesigns.com I'm testing a WVO Designs one right now just to get a feel for this class of centrifuge & so far its' pretty impressive. You also have the Spinner II and the Dieselcraft varieties. 1) Diesel Craft: http://dieselcraft.com/ B100 Supply used to carry these but isn't taking orders anymore. But, he has a really nice informational page on them here: http://www.b100supply.com/Biod...Centrifuges_s/77.htm 2) Spinner II Centrifuge http://www.spinnerii.com/index...div/divID/40/divid/0 I haven't heard much on this one except that I know people use it for cleaning oil with. They're smaller than the ones above but people have reported good things about both. And, if you want to move up to the REALLY nice ones (ie. $15-$20K), the Alfa Laval units are amazing! -Graydon

I use and sell the WVO Designs one. It works very well. I would go with the 6000 rpm 220v single phase system. You can also get an inline heater for it if you are in a colder climate or are looking for max cleaning ability. It is also gravity fed so there are no other pumps to buy. Check it out on my site.

If you're wanting to centrifuge filter WVO, I would encourage you to look at www.pabiodieselsupply.com. I don't even live in PA. I live in TX. This isn't a plug for myself. I purchased some equipment from Joe at PABiodieselSupply and he turned out to be a very fair businessman. He even took back a pump and sent a larger one to me with no restocking fee. He sells a complete kit if you don't want to have to go to 3 different places to get everything you need. If you're wanting to centrifuge Biodiesel, I don't recommend a pump driven system. |

That's a sweet setup!
Joe's a fair guy too. I've talked to him in the past. Check out what a centrifuge looks like when it runs.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62RSpNttv6Y Joe shot a really cool video of one. -Graydon

I think the simple bowl type CFs have a weakness. Some oil can exit before the dirt is removed. Splashing is also a problem. Take a good look at the cone feed system a Simplecentrifuge and decide for yourself.
Speed is your friend if the oil will stay in the bowl long enough to be cleaned. Clip of a little demonstration. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X7Lr-gdxZY Look at the drops of oil that splashed up onto the lid from inside the bowl |

Thanks for all the help and info. I didn't think that I would get so many responses so quickly. This should be enough to get me started
