Nice bucket. Why do you think the stand for the bucket is shaped that way, with the curve?

I wonder what mixes the methanol & lye together?

If it just goes in a big bucket, there's no telling how well it gets dissolved.

It almost looks like he's using one of my SealPro lids on top of that bucket too.

Another one, from Diesel Fryer http://www.dieselfryer.com/ :

This unit is being discussed here. I'm trying to steer the maker into improving the unit (for safety's sake). Contributions welcome.

If all else fails with this one, you could get $5 back from your local Pepsi bottler. That is what mine gets for deposit on the pallet.

You just know this guy is building the best one around, simply because he uses the world famous Cyclindroconical tank design. Eek

IMPORTANT UPDATE TO A PREVIOUS POST ON THIS THREAD.

OK, sorry for yelling, but I just knew there was someone here who would hate to miss this opportunity to advance their training.

This is the seller with the $175 (from memory, but it was way high) titration kits.

DAMN!!!!
Spendy classes there!
(and someone probably will pay too....for their poor quality seminar).

Take my advice & take a class from Girl Mark instead, the stuff she teaches is so far advanced over these "ok, now we're going to use a blender to make some biodiesel" guys that it's not even funny....

And a heck of a lot cheaper too.

[color:BLUE]Yeah, mixing is very important. I have kind of a nozzle in my processor. It returns the fuel under force and at an angle to the tank, thus causing a good vortex and pretty good mixing. It doesn't just splash the BD back in the top. Since I use a gear pump, I could have like a fire hose effect inside the processor if I wanted, but I dont think that's necessary. I have also suggested a way to get better mixing in an appleseed. Using a 1/2 inch pipe screwed inside the 3/4 inch pipe that goes into the top of the Appleseed. Plug the end and drill holes in the side of the pipe for a jet effect. It could reach down into the Appleseed as far as you wanted. Number and size of holes would be determined by experimentation. Back pressure on the HF pump would be the only concern. Since I don't have an Appleseed or a HF pump, I can't say how well this would work. Any takers?

As Tilly indicated, if it can't mix well, it's just not going to make good biodiesel.

No doubt about it. We are working on the details of a GM class here in early July. Anyone interested in a two day in Lincoln, PM me. Do not bother GM, I will notify anyone interested and give you a heads up when the dates are firm.
