What two pumps are you using? If its the little blue pumps, then 1 inch will be plenty. www.MurphysMachines.ComThe best Do-it-Yourself Construction Plans on the Internet! Waste Oil Heating - Biodiesel Systems

3 inches is a bit over kill but no harm done.... 2-1/2 would have been more than enough. www.MurphysMachines.ComThe best Do-it-Yourself Construction Plans on the Internet! Waste Oil Heating - Biodiesel Systems

quote: Anyone run this setup before? I am worried the 1" will not provide enough volume for the two pumps with 3/4" outputs.
I do, more or less. I have a 3/4 outlet from the tank to a 1" inlet in the larger pump and a 3/4" inlet in the smaller. The smaller pump has a 3/4" outlet and the larger has a 1" outlet. A reverse path through the smaller pump provides a second input to the larger pump during processing, so in that case two 3/4" inlets provide for a 1" outlet; backwards of what you propose, and it seems to work OK. If you are using 2 of the smaller pump, I think you'll be fine. If its a bigger one, its not gonna be enough. My big pump creates so much vacuum in the 3/4" inlets that it sucks air through the 1-way valve on the methanol port and collapses the methanol jug. I just choke the big pumps outlet down some to slow the exit and increase the "residual time" of the fluid in the bigger pump.
