Well, I've been hinting about this new product for the past few months but until now we haven't been ready to talk about it publicly.

We're now ready....

Introducing the BioPro 380 Automated Biodiesel Processor

This bad boy is the result of lot's of hard work and effort by AGR. It also is the result of a lot of feedback from many of you on what a nice processor should have.

Here's a few of the specs on it:
1- It can produce batches of 50, 75, or 100 gallons in 48 hours
(that's 190, 285, or 380 liters)
2- It runs off of both 230 Volts & 120 Volts (230 for the processor & 120 for the filler pump)
3- Using the 80/20 method (this machine was built especially to be able to handle it), it can hit ASTM in total & free glycerin with fairly decent oil repeatedly...more on the specs on the oil are coming..
4- The tank is made of stainless steel.
5- It now has a nice stainless steel ball valve down below (this puppy will most likely easily survive a fire without "spilling the fuel" into the room...obviously we've not "tested it in a fire", but I feel confident it'd stand up just fine.).

It's also fairly big so that it can handle everything effectively. It sits off the ground up high so you can drain easily.

This is the prototype machine that they'll be testing over the next few weeks. I'll be going to Chico next week to photograph & video it so I can tell you all more about it soon.

Pricing isn't final yet, but it's definitely not double a BioPro 190.

Anyway, thought I'd give you all a peek at what's coming from AGR in the next few months.

I've been drooling over the pictures of it now for the past few weeks as it's come together.

More info as it becomes available.

I doubt it. The suckers huge. I don't know that we could transfer it there. I'll ask them, but I think we'd have to crate it up & figure out how to lift it into a pickup first.

It's also not completely done yet so I'm not sure it's ready to transport. They're going to start testing the heck out of it starting this week and I'll be doing some tests with it when I get there too later this week as well.

If we don't bring it I'll try to bring lot's & lot's of pictures of it with me if we're able to make it over to Berkley on Sat. I'm hoping we can and Galen was excited to hear about it.

It's not "my" forklift specifically, but it's part of what my rent gets me at the shop.

The class is held at my shop- it's just at a different tenant's space in the same shop building rather than inside my much more crowded shop space. I wouldn't rent at a shop without a forklift, given my love of large heavy metal objects.

Look up whipping boy in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.
For other uses, see Whipping boy (disambiguation).

A whipping boy, in feudal times, was a boy of the same age but lower rank raised with a prince or nobleman as a playmate, who was whipped in his place when the young nobleman -- too high in standing to be beaten by anyone below his father, who was often unavailable -- misbehaved or slacked in his studies, as a psychological 'indirect punishment'.

In modern times, the term "whipping boy" has come to mean a scapegoat, or something that is a frequent recipient of undue pain, punishment or mistreatment, including inanimate objects

Aaron just recently moved his family over to Chico to oversee the assembly of the machines - so he's the guy who has been doing the bulk of the assembly and testing lately and he gets the whipping boy label passed on to him.

He and I were the original two parters who started the business. He's not an engineer, but he comes up with quite a few of our ideas.

Holy ****, I had no idea that was the origin of that term. That's hilarious. Other than for the boy involved, of course.

By the way, it looks like we have an official price too....it's going to retail for $12,995.00

So that's double the capacity of the 190, plus the ability to do multiple size batches (50, 75, and 100), plus 230 volts so it'll heat up quicker, plus lot's of really cool design changes (compliments of AGR based on feedback from everyone here and customers) plus bragging rights. This thing is really really cool!

It makes a poly processor look like, well, a Yugo in comparison to the Mercedes Benz of personal Biodiesel processors.

In the near future we'll be holding demo's with the thing too. It'll start at Chico's facility and we'll go from there.

Contact me for details.

I'm excited to get to Chico near the end of this week to start playing with it.

We're going to run a full series of ASTM tests on it (not just total & free glycerin) and we'll also soon be testing the wash water coming out of this one as well to see how clean it is...the BioPro 190 easily passed Chico's waste water requirements.

I realize that safety needs to be a prime concern. Just how safe is hoisting containers of methanol and ACID (YIKES) over ones head to pour into a comparatively small hole. Scary, with or without the step which is an accident waiting to happen.

Yep. We're looking at a 5 week lead time on them right now from the time the order's placed.

Once they get up & running in full production the lead time will come down a bit.
