Northern tool has 3 rotary hand bumps- the cheapo $35, the "chemical" $70 and the "biodiesel" $130

Tractor Supply has one for $50 that works with Diesel.... anyone using this with methanol?

Not that cheapo is the way I normally do things- but $130 for a pump seems steep when i'll be doing 1-2 bathces a week... anyone using any of these for Methanol?

This is the one I use, although I had to go through another one to get to this one. The first one was defective (as so many things from Northern Tool seems to be). If you get it, do it in peerson and inspect it right there at the store, and assemble it before you buy.

My first one's locking nut wouldn't screw on correctly and this ended up making the whole thing useless, but for parts.

I've been using the second one for a couple years now and can't even begin to guess at how much methanol I've pumped with it, but it's been SEVERAL drums worth. I just hooked up a length of hose to the spiggot and then pump away.

Graydon has this nice pump on his site if you don't trust the quality of NT's (I think I was just fortunate to get a good one second time around).

-are you looking for a pump to remove methanol from a drum? I found and air oil barrel pump that when connected to a metering unit I picked up at northern tool allows me to meter directly from the barrel into the methoxide mixing tank. This is not really a pump as the name implies, but to use it you attatch an air line, it pressurizes the drum, and out the tap comes a steady flow of methanol. I found this in Canada at princess auto, a very similar outlet to your northern tool. Tom

-the barrel pump is PA part #8205494 (pg 53 cat#267) The northern tool tool didgital flow meter is 10930-1907, brand name GPI (Great Plains Industries) the unit I purchased measures in US gallons, but reading the litrature, says it is available in Canada in ltr. Not sure where, but a farm supply shop would be a place to check. Tom
