Just a question to see what everyone is brewing in these days.
I make Biodiesel in a BioPro 190. Here's a picture of my processor.. So, what are you making YOUR bio in these days...? -Graydon

55-gallon appleseed style water heater reactor, making 25-30 gallon batches. Stand pipe wash tank and air compressor bubble-dry. Passing 3/27 regularly.

James, That system rocks!! Complete conversion in 45 minutes. UNREAL!! Would you be willing to provide some additional details about your setup? Here are a few questions that I'm itching to ask: 1. What kind of pump are you using? It must be moving some serious GPM! 2. How are you cooling your methanol vapors? With water? I don't see any water cooling plumbing but it may be hidden from the photo. 3. Do you reclaim methanol with the glycerin still in it or do you drain the glycerin first? 4. I see you are using a carboy or some kind of poly tank for methoxide. How are you mixing that to dissolve the lye? NaOH or KOH? 5. What is the tank on the left for? Is the tank on the right for settling the demethed biodiesel and pulling samples at various depths as the soap settles? 6. I think I see your venturi (I really like the one you made for me) and I see a discharge tube attached to it which directs the flow from the center tank to the tank on the right side of the picture. Am I seeing that correctly? Again, very very impressive work. Cheers, Sorry for so many questions but your system looks really great and I am in the process of designing my second version of the Eco Processor. |

Just the plain old fashion way. Maybe one day I can move up to the GL method.
