Legal's the discoverer, I just provide "da goods" to help those that wanna get in on the action.

The "discovery" was purely by accident. I had been using lawn sprinklers held upside down over the BD but some always gets into the retunr lines and the BD would eat the connections on the sprinklers necessitating replacement. A royal PITA.
I don't even remember how it happened but I had been getting what effectively would be "spam" from a place called "Process News",and they seemed to have some funky stuff so I just kept receiving the emails and stored them away in a folder earmarked for that purpose.
One day I am snooping through their offerings and came upon "Industrial Nozzles" and followed the links,called the representatives in this country and ordered a spray head which turned out o he M-187 but in 90 degree full cone configuration. I soon discovered that the 90 degree one would be perfect for a 100 liter drum but wasn't quite wide enough for my 200 liter dum so I ordered another one only a 120 degree full cone and that is what I now have and love it.
Graydon did the follow up to bring in the MistPro, calling the company and talking up the engineers to see what product would best serve the needs of the "community", so this really is a combined effort in an attempt to completely revolutionize the way homebrewers wash. These nozzles do away with the "wash tank backlog" as it enables us to move the product along in a reasonable time frame as compared with the traditional methods of misting and/or bubbling.
The main thing is that there is positive advancement in the way we make our fuel, and it is through colaborative efforts that we all get there quicker. I am just happy that I had my part to play in this one.
Graydon;
I hope you sell a zillion of these nozzles.

I still get a kick out of all the email I get from customers who love these things.

I usually get an email of something to the effect of "Do these things really work?"

I send them an email telling them about how they work, why they work, & what we've seen.

Somewhat reluctantly they order one & then about a week after it get's to them I get this email of glowing praise from them about how cool & how well the things work.

Just like Biodiesel, I'm continually amazed at how well these things work at washing biodiesel. We're just about ready to start testing the M-187 with my demo guy. We just have to build another settling tank to ensure we can get the glycerin out like Legal's been talking about.

As a matter of interest, my research/demo guy is now making a solid 150-200 gallons of bio a week. Last week he made over 300 gallons. Much of the reason he's now able to pump so much of it through in a week has to do with that crazy little stainless steel nozzle.

Man ain't it great when stuff works!

For whatever it's worth, the 'save the intermixed material in a bucket' idea has always been in the directions for using the Appleseed- here it is from this thread with the instructions. Maybe I need to add something about it being important for washing purposes, I thought everyone knew that : http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/919605551/m/6911027911

13. You will get at least 2 gallons of intermixed glycerol/biodiesel. You can tell that this is coming out of the drain by looking at the color of the liquid, and may notice that it drains faster than the glycerol. Save this intermixed liquid to settle further in a carboy, then pour off the biodiesel into your wash tank once glycerol settles. Another trick is to slow down the drain valve once intermixed biodiesel/glycerol appears- this will cut down on the amount of biodiesel that enters the intermixed layer. Also, you may want to install a valve before your pump, so as to avoid glycerol hiding in the pump plumbing and mixing into your drained biodiesel.
