I'm collecting my supplies to build first GL-Eco 1 day processor. A suitable tank has been a sticking point. Was hoping to find a used 60 gal vertical compressor tank, but none to be found here. I've sourced a new one in the states, but shipping down to me will be a bear. Meanwhile, locally sourced some vertical water pressure tanks. (Everyone uses water catchment here, so pressurized water tanks are easy to find). Many use an internal bladder, but some are simply epoxy-lined steel tanks.

The brand is Sta-Rite, model Epoxyline. Description is "Powder Epoxy Coating : The insides of the tanks are electrostatically powder-coated and then are oven baked to ensure proper adhesion and consistent coverage. This paint process offers superior corrosion resistance over traditional wet paints"

Anyone know anything about compatibility of methanol, methoxide, oil, or bio with powder-coated baked epoxy lining? I've contacted the manufacturers, but waiting for response.

Thanks.

Biodiesel will probably eat the coating off in 6 months. Don't worry about it. Once it's gone, bare steel works fine unless you need to do the acid/base processing for really worn out, high free fatty acid oil.

I process in a 55 gal drum and it ate the coating off. No worries.

Finest regards,
