It al started buy a old 1982 beater diesel wagon that had 300,000 miles on the body. and I a recent rebuilt motor.
I wanted a manual tranny and I found a 264 diesel with a manual tranny that was wreck in tocoma WA. I pick the whole car for 400 dollars. The car only have 116,000 mile What a steal.
I put the motor out of the red wagon place it in my new 1985 diesel 4 door.

The big problem with the present level hybrid technology is.........IT SUCKS, there aint no way in hell they are EVER going to sell large quantities of these things when they have $30,000+ price tags and a 31 mile range on batteries, that is going to be GMs next big fail, they are going to get the Volt on the market and it is going to be a monumental, catastrophic failure. $40,000+ for a electric with a 35 mile range, they might as well just sh!t can the entire program righ now, they will be way ahead of the game.
Most of the hybrids on the road right now get worse mileage than the diesel VWs, a 45mpg diesel trumps 35mpg hybrid all to hell and gone.
