Can anyone tell me where to go to find out if I can use SVO, biodiesel or any of the other alternatives in my 240 D24? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am a newbie and I don't want to trash my engine....thanks.

Your 240 should be an excellent candidate for BD or SVO. The Injection system is very simple and won't complain a bit. It may be necessary to change your fuel hoses to Viton a BD resistant type of rubber if you experience softening or "sweating" of the material. The D24 engine is a 6 cyl version made by Volkswagen to almost identical specs as the 4cyl engine found in diesel Rabbits Jettas etc. Most information regarding VW suitability for these fuels can be taken to apply to your car, so there is a considerable amount of experience out there on the net. Do you have pics Its so hard to find a 1980 diesel just because of the head bolts they used 11MM. there are kits out that would work.
