Anyone know anything more about this ?

Last night I was looking through some old video tapesand came across a recording
from Channel six called The Energy Alternative. This appears to have been made
around 1982.
Amongst other things it featured a prototype small car by Volvo. A Volvo man was
shown pouring a litre of svo into the tank. This car was known as the LCP2000. The
Vice President of Environmental Affairs at Volvo, Sigvar Hoggren, Said that the
idea was to produce something that would do 90 mpg with a top speed of 70 mph.
Former Chief Engineer Rolfe Mellde said that the public wouldn’t be ready for such a
car and it wasn’t intended to take it to production.

Can anybody throw any more light on this car?

Ye, but 'SIX' not '6'. It was a satellite channel on Sky. During that period, before I cancelled Sky, I used to record virtually everything of a technical nature. Sadly, during an augument, my 'good lady' removed all the labels from my tape collection. So there isn't much Where and When info available. I will try to glean some more from the recording. The car looked very similar to the old Volvo 340.

just searched lcp2000 on yahoo and read an article on that car, wow, we could really use that, they said if we used enough of them we wouldn't need to import any oil, that would be great!!!!!
