I am wondering about the same thing. So far, greencarco is the only one I could find...oh, and a place called Mercy Motive in Oregon: http://portland.wweek.com/buyselltrade/classifieds/View...e=autos%20for%20sale
Neither one is close to me (Pasadena, CA). I'd also like to hear people chime in on this one...even if it is just to give opinions on the two companies mentioned. |

These links are diesel 200 series to Chevy V8 and 700 V6 to Chevy V8. Do you have a US diesel V8 related to the Chevy?
The UK magazine 'Car Mechanics' put an Isuzu 2.8L into a Volvo 260 about 12 years ago. But here in the UK we have lots of good cheap old diesel cars http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Volvo_200_V-8.html http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Volvo_700_V-8.html |

A Volvo 240 wagon with a 6.5 V8 diesel would be sweet --There is no Magic Bullet.-- If bigger is safer, buses are safest. Save yourself, use Transit. |

the small block chevy(SBC)/volvo conversion is fairly common- turbobricks.com and the brickboard.com have forums which peeps have done it.
I dont really think these cars are daily drivers, though. and I imagine that a 6.5 prolly weighs more than a 327 or even a 350 SBC. I have thought about putting a mercedes 617 5 cyl into our 93 940, but the thought process is all the further I have gotten. I will park the 2 side by each some day and do some measuring, but the wife loves her Volvo just the way it is, and I dont blame her- we have not had to do any work on it for the last 20k., unlike the benz. Be the change you hope to find in this world.-Gandhi |
