I bought a new 85 D-50/4X4/TDI and kept it for 205K miles. All in Alaska.
We loved it. We'd have another if we could have found one.

Since reading your forum I see the engine (I think) also came in the Ford Rangers. Did it?
What else?

I had some trouble with my engine. I think it cost me $1K for the Head gasket n' rockers.
Also those $200 alternator/oilpump's. Three of them.
But the worst problem was the easiest to solve.
The Input bearing in the Trans (5 speed) would go out every winter. 5 winters in a row.
Changing that at Below Zero temps was an abominimal task.
Amsoil solved the problem. Never happend again after I put Amsoil in the transmission.

My question is what vehicles to look for that might have that little Four cylinder TDI in there for an engine.
I might sell off my F-150 Gasser and go back to burning Marbles again.
