I was just on the phone with Mitsubishi Sweden and they really don't have a clue. They are to revert sometime next week. But anyways I was hoping someone here could give me an exact answer. I really would not like to blow the engine as it only has 60 000 km's on it and I sure can do without the cost for repairing the engine. If it's safe, are there any do's and dont's? Do I need to change stuff?
This question is for biodiesel as I wasn't planning on running it on pure veggie oil. I will buy new oil and process it according to one of many tutorials. Clearly if I mess up the process my car won't be happy, but supposing this doesn't happen, is it safe?

Cheers and thanks beforehand for any and all replies.

I know several people that are using either biodiesel or SVO with this engine but on an older model vehicle.

I have a 1996 Pajero 2.8td which I've just run the first tank of bio through with no obvious problems yet.

I have friends with a 1996 Pajero and a 1998 Delica (both with the 2.8) who have both used SVO for a reasonable time. If it works on SVO, it should work on bio.

I'm no expert but I should think the 1996 and 2004 engines are basically the same???

Don't know about that model but I have been running 100% bio in my 1992 2.5TD for the last 20K miles or so... Razz

Filter and de-meth properly before use.

No waste but what we make...
