I bought this little truck hoping to save on fuel back and forth to work.it turns out it has a bad injector pump.i cant find any parts for this truck.I'm getting burnt out on it and havent even drove it!! Is this truck a real classic or just ready for the junk yard?
I'm pretty sure that Ford carried the same truck rebadged as a Ranger. Might check with some of the Ford sites. I'd suggest the dealer, but it was such an oddball, that dealers even say that it never existed.
I found this site in China somewhere that sells a brand new pump for the 2.3lt. Site: http://www.vepump.cn/contact.htm. Sometimes the page doesn't load so be patient. Also, I contacted them and they said $450.00 for the pump. I told them it was the Zexel #104640-3160. The numbers should be on your pump so check to make sure. If it's different let me know because i sold my pump and had to get the pump # from someone else and who knows...it might be wrong.

I went through a similar thing with my 1986 ford ranger 4x4 with the 2.3 turbo diesel (i believe the 4d55?). The previous owner put some bunk unfiltered/contaminated biodiesel/SVO and ended up scoreing the injector pump, leading to it leaking fuel. Fortunately there is a local fuel injection specialist here in southern Oregon and they were able to overhaul it and replace what was needed. THey didnt seem to have trouble finding parts, so if you want any more info on it feel free to give me an email.
