She just told me that she feels like she lives in an oil refinery. All I've been doing so far is filtering oil and blending, not even making bio. Yes the small portion of the yard I am using is fensed off w/vinyal slats in the fenceing for vision blockage. And yes it looks like the blue collar yard of the week inside there.

She isn't even impressed w/my fuel costs of $1.00us/gal. blended. States it seems like I spend more than 4-6 hrs/wk on collecting filtering etc.

I can store excess wvo on some land I lease for my business but it is 35 +- miles away, no power, no weather cover, refrigerator, etc.

What's a fellow to do?

Store you wife. Explain to her that it's for her own good and for the sake of your marriage. She'll be much happier if she doesn't have to live at the refinery Wink

Work up a spreadsheet that calculates how much $$$ you can save over a year or two by using your blend/bioD/WVO instead of petroD. Show her how much farther your money will go. It might even take her to Paris!

Stop using the oil for a while, start buying fuel and dent the budget a bit.
A bit less to spend on groceries might just do the trick.
Or put the money saved towards a holiday to somewhere exotic.

This may be of little solace my Mile High City friend, but I will humbly offer my services to remove any excess oil and/or take over your oil contract, depending on location.

p.s. I would suggest drawing up a worksheet with the amount of savings you've achieved over straight #2 - then buy her something nice and sparkly with that amount. Long shot, but will clearly illustrate your point.

p.p.s I'm married to one of the most intelligent people on the globe, but even she is vulnerable to shiny and sparkly things. Chicks - even wickedly smart ones - are very vulnerable to trinkets. Give it a shot - it might work and if it doesn't well at least you pulled out a strategic weapon in an attempt to salvage your oil refinery.

Just go out back and get her a pack of fries. That will show her you getting fuel and food. Now that's a savings. Big Grin
Blue collar yard of the week? Don't stop till you hit Sanford and Sons.

Do you leave your oily smelly clothes and boots in the oil yard or bring them into her house? Who washes the oily grimy 'stuff'? Does your hobby create a mess she has to clean up?

Baby don't make me choose between you and grease, if you do I'll be lonely as hell for a day or two, but I'll be busy enough with the grease It'll keep my mind off it.

After driving our 95 Surburban for 2 months to our fish camp and having the wife see the credit card bill at 550 a month she is very happy to just use veggie oil in her 300 and does not say a word about the oil stains on my clothes.

I found a similar thing.
While the oil was going in MY car there was always some grief about my oil proclivity.
As soon as I got her a Veg mobile and she started saving $80 a week on fuel, the only thing I have heard is her questioning if WE have enough because I haven't been out collecting for a whole month.
Last week, she even "encouraged" me to start making Bio when she learned many newer cars didn't like oil a whole lot but they would get by on bio.

Get her more involved (somehow) and she'll be encouraging you to build a bigger oil shed!

Show her the money, or get her involved. It has nothing to do with her, aside from her maybe having to wash your clothes.

fabricator, that's great! That ranks right up there with Murphy's "multi-dimensional bullsh!t detector" comment among the classic forum comments!
