I work at a car dealership, we have 55-gal drums of washer solvent @ full strength, we dilute the solvent after it leaves the tank.

The tank says "METHANOL w/ BLUE DYE" on it, thats all.

Is this 100% or near to it? And would/could the blue dye cause any harm to an engine?

Thanks,
Justin

You could always run a little 1L batch and see what happens, complete reaction-wise, anyway.

As for dye hurting the engine, I wouldn't think so, but the what do I know. The worst I could think would be making the motor oil turn bluish, otherwise I can't see it doing a darn thing; they dye off-road fuel and home heating oil and they both burn just fine in a diesel engine Smile.
