I am new to this forum, and although I can find Methanol in the greater Phoenix. I can not find it for less that 6.25 per gallon. And the same price is on the net. Where can I get methanol for the great prices that you are getting it for??
Yes - they were the ones who quoted 6.25 per gallon. Western States petroleum is quoting 3.04 which is better, but I keep hearing about 2.00 per gallon.

$2.50 a gallon for methanol in LA. I would love to get hold of some of that. I am currently getting mine from F&L Fuels in Long Beach at around $150 per 30 gallons. Where can I find the cheap stuff?

It's a race shop. The older dude knows about biodiesel and is really nice. There's another guy there who is "non-friendly"...he's not mean...just doesn't talk too much.
Call before you go because they sometimes go on the road to sell at races. If you buy 55 gallons, they will sell for $2.25. Good luck. Dan.
ok , finally got hazmat permit (musta took so long for my background check) i can now SELL methanol for $122 (U.S) /drum(55 gallon) plus drum ($12 - $20). take hwy 160 west from hwy 95 going to reno . make right on farm rd , go 6 miles to tamarack and left then left again on maverick. yard with tanks across from derelict car lot - bring shade cover for methanol drums especially in coming through death valley.
i cant believe the price gouging that goes on in chemical industry - before we got our 2000 gallons methanol delivered we were getting quotes for above 2.50/ gallon in a tanker size. i just tried to buy the same 50lb caustic beads i bought 4 months ago for 58 bucks and the wanted 120 something + tax in a will call yard. Univar quoted me 39 a pound -20 bucks a sack for a pallet of the stuff then told me i was making methamphetamines out of lye? and wouldn't sell withought some b.s. credit application and by the way it was 66 cents a pound in vegas--total *****.
