Is vacuum distillation cost effective to process monthly 800 MT of crude glycerine and if so what would approximate costs be associated with this method.
If you are talking about the total by product you would first separate the glycerol from from the soap lye and methanol.
If you know how much lye you used you could work out how much acid you would need and cost the acid.
There is still a fair amount of heat required even under vacuum so heating would be the main cost.
can u elaborate how to refine that crude glycerine to make it waterwhite colour and make it 98% + purity?
thanks in advance
It takes an expensive system to get to 98% purity. One method is a wipe film evaporator. You can google it.
Traditionally glycerol from soap production, was triple distilled using superheated steam and treated with activated bentonite and charcoal to remove the colour.
