I am currently looking for a Methanol source in San Diego as well. Myself and a few neighbors are looking into the potential of producing our own biodiesel and are in search of needed supplies.

I am also just starting out, but I wouldn't mind going in on a large order of chemicals and split it among a bunch of people to help bring the cost down. Savings in Bulk!

I got lucky yesterday I have a friend in the Racing cercuit, and he gave me a lead on a old racer who is shuting down, he sold me two drums of Methyl alcohol for $250,each! as for local suppliers there prices are still to high I found one suppliers selling methyl, for $258.00 per drum...but you have to pay state taxes and pay for a drum deposit of $25.00, and they want to get personal they want to know where your going to store it and they want to know if you have a hazmat permit. I said thank you I have all that covred but They would not take my drums for the deposit I had use there only! NOPE It aint happining dude. I kept looking and the next thing I know my mechinic calls me and tells me about this old racer guy just 5 miles from my house, I was jazzed for the price he offred, I jumped right on it. Yea I got lucky lol

Did anyone find a source for methanol in San Diego yet? I would be willing to go in on a bunk order of both lye and methanol.
