I usually subscribe to the saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't" but I found a source for Methanol at a BP station out of the pump for $3.00/gallon. What am I missing?

Why would a BP station be selling methanol? Is there a over abundance of race cars around there? Perhaps someone is confusing methanol with ethanol?

That would be great if it was meth and not eth because that's fairly close to me. If anyone has any more details about this, post up please.

Thanks Tilly, I'm not sure if my link is working for everyone.

Raften:

It is Methanol, not Ethanol.

I only saw the map, and overlooked the phone number and address on the link in your original post.
I will get a hang of this new fangled internet one day.

It still does not figure that a BP would carry methanol. What for?

They have a Methanol pump and a Sunoco Racing fuel pump. I guess it's cause they are right down the road from a race track.

That is a nice price. I paid $3.71 per gal. (with tax added it's $3.90 per gal)a few weeks ago. It was from a Sunoco race fuel distributor in Virginia. Had to buy 50+ gallons to get that price though.

OK being near a race track explains it, like I said, over abundance of race cars.
