I reacted 43 gallons this past weekend. Used pure methenol and NaOH. After reaction we did a 5 gallon pre-wash, let it settle and pumped out the bottom of the drum. So far so good. The bio diesel was a little cloudy but i figured it would clear up after the wash. Nope. After the wash we removed the water from teh bottom of the drum and started to "dry" the diesel. Its been almost 5 days and the diesel is still very cloudy. Any ideas? Do i need to wash it again? more heat? or just more time?
Any help you guys can provide would be great.

Did you do more than the prewash? That is likely not to be enough washing.
I would Wash again

You probably need to do 2-3 washes, sometimes more. It depends on the level of contaminants. Keep washing until the wash water comes out clear.

Do you recommend using a misting sprayer(like the ones used in produce at the grocery) or will a hose with just lightly sprayed over the oil work ok?

I always like a very fine mist but I have never done any testing.

Just wanted to let you guys know that the bio-diesel cleared up after 3 more washes and a few hours of dry time. Thanks for the advice.
