What would it read? Would it bob to the top like a cork or would it give some false positive reading for alcohol purity?

It would float way high or just lay on it's side, the higher the purity/absence of water the lower they float.

Ok, that's what I thought. I think there was some glycerol in my latest batch of oil, I dewatered and got some methanol out of it.
