No do not leave the heat on through the process (and definitely don't "superheat" it to remove methanol!), only before you add the methoxide. If your system is well insulated and you properly heat before adding the methoxide, you will not need heat. I heat to 135 degrees prior to adding the methoxide and my system is still well over 100 degrees 24 hrs after shutting down for seperation phase. As for the wash water, are you adding enough water wash each time and did you only send bio (free of glycerine) to your wash tank?

Ahhh,
How do you mix? what type of processor are you using? A seperate wash tank is nice if you have room. What do you mean "superheat"? Where does the methanol go? Just released into the air? It is very frustrating when you pour time, effort and money into the process and you still get what appears to be poor results. Does the bio-d pass the 27/3 test? How about the "shake'em up" test? Hang in there. C. Pump and Heater controllers are a must have.
