anybody using this/
http://www.utahbiodieselsupply.com/biodieselwatertestkit.php I have used the de-watering process in the BP 190 manual, to success, but not knowing if it was even necessary. I have secured a fondue type restaurant as a supplier and wonder that their oil might not even contain any water. I just want to keep the 190 churning out bio without having to waste time if its not needed. However i don't mind speding on having the right tools for the job. when should something like this be used. presently I combine all my oil in 275 gallon totes. considering that I have 225 out there now the water probably has settled since it was all combined. should I mix it all up and then test? to get an overall reading. or should I just test the 50 gallons that gets pumped into the BP 190? i picked up the 225 yesterday, i go from the tote to a drum thru the barrel filter. its sits for 48 hours while the 190 in proccessing its current batch. is this when I should take it out and test? before I transfer to the 190? 03 duramax for now, 10 year TDR member 96 2500,98 3500,2004.5 3500 all Cummins power, bio pro 190 |

Graydon's kit that you mention looks slick and is pretty high tech.
For a somewhat lower tech method, which costs almost nothing, you could try my patented sexy weigh/heat/weigh method, as described here: http://www.biodieselcommunity.org/quantitativewatertest/ Water contamination can cause all sorts of weird problems, so it's best to test every batch before you put it in the processor.
