This sounds like your supplier thinks that by diluting the vegtable oil you're actually making BioDiesel.
Colder climates you need to dilute it more. Check the forums here for proper recipe and procedures. Try small batches first. It won't be a waste because you will be learning. If you don't make a solid chunk you can add it to your tank after washing & drying and gain the lubrication benefits. Goodluck |

Hello Jim
Who is your methanol supplier? The world and the internet is full of inaccurate biodiesel information. Your methanol supplier is adding to it. I sugest that you should do your first few batches using the World Famous Dr Pepper Technique (Pat Pend) Saint Tilly |

Would you be around shelton maybe buy your methanol at small and sons. I talked to them a long time ago and what he is referring to is svo dilution sounded like to me not biodiesel. The last methanol I bought was from there cheaper than tarr inc at that time and much closer to home.

He is still wrong! Methanol is, virtually, insoluble in UVO. Adding methanol will not dilute the oil. The added methanol will just float to the surface. Impurities in the UVO may alter the relationship, but in pure solutions methanol is not soluble in oil. |
