I just completed my first batch of BD and I used KOH and it titrated at 2.2 and it came out fine. I just went and picked up a 50lb bag of NaOH. I dumped my 1% KOH solution and made a new one with NaOH. When I did the titration using the new solution with the same feedstock it came out to be 1.6. Is that possible?

That sounds good.

KOH always titrates about 30% higher than NaOH.. That's why base titration is 5grams NaOH and 7 grams KOH.

I want to thank all the members who have helped me through the startup of my BD processing system, and for giving me suggestions in my first "baby steps" to get this first batch done.
I feel a whole lot more confident! Thanks again......bigroy
