I am re-building my electrical switch box for my processor. Its full of nice heavy duty chrome toggle switches - not light switches but those chrome switches that fit through 1/2 mounting holes. I went with these as they were affordable, and easy to drill 1/2 holes to mount them.

Here is what I would like in order of preference and the problem is I have not been able to find vendors selling them, so if anybody could point me in the right direction:

1. A 120 volt lighted toggle switch. (This has been impossible to find. On surpluscenter.com I did find one that is rated for 25a 120 volt but the lighted part is 12volts. I am not even sure what to do with that.)

2. 120 Volt indicator lamps. I found some @ https://www.minute-man.com/ but I need to order $20.00 worth, which I will do, but was hoping someone might have a better suggestion before I have to buy 10 of these to get to the minimum.

3. I have seen some bigger illuminated push buttons, but unsure where to get them. Also what size hole is there is to drill to mount these.

4) Is there some easier solution that I am completely unaware of.
4a) Is there some simple adapter (resister combo) to go from 120 AC to 12V DC for lights? If you are going to explain this, think of me as a very smart first grader and will need as much detail explanation as possible.

Thanks
Doug

Doug,

Sounds like you're building something interesting.

I'm no electrician, but I would be very interested in hearing about your goals and design for your control panel.

Is there a reason why you're not using 12V switches and lights with relays?

I have found everything I have ever needed HERE

They have a lighted rocker SPST 20A 125VAC for $1.15. (540-CRE22F2BBRLE) They also have 115 V indicator lamps and illuminated togles, but they are more expensive. I have used these people for years, excellant service, same day shipping and no minimum orders, and they have excellent stocking levels. I can't remember when something I ordered was out of stock. Considering they handle about a million small parts, that is a feat in itself.

BTW request a catalog when you order, it is as good as the Sears and Roebuck was as a teenager.

Doug,
All the controls and electrical widgets your heart desires can be found at any industrial electrical supply house. The will have catalogues that you can spend hours going through with everything imaginable... None of the stuff you mentioned above is out of the ordinary and they will likely have the stuff you want in stock.
Stay away from big box and hardware stores and go the source for control panel builders...

Doug, I found exactly what you are looking for at Home Depot. 120 volt switch with 120 volt light. Can be wired for light on with switch on or off as desired.

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.
