I am in the process of changing my processor, from an agitation method to a recirculation system. I purchased a pump last saturday, but when I read the manual, it was stated "maximum temperature of water: 30 ºC", so I gave it back, considering that BD will be recirculated at 50ºC or more.
Can anybody tell me if that warning is serious or I can ignore it and use it with hot BD ?

I have read that Harbour Freight pumps are good for this kind of work, but they don´t deliver abroad, so I´m on the way to find an alternative.

Besides, there is another point. It says that it is not permitted to reduce the diameter of the input or output of the pump (they are 1 inch diameter), is this also important? The guy at the shop didn´t know.
Thanks in advence

The Harbor freight pump has been used in homebrewing by LOT of people and I have never hard of one failing even reducing from 1" to 3/4".
What are your electrical requirments? Are you 110/120 volts at 60 hz?

I know, the point is that I cannot get HFP here in Spain, they don´t deliver abroad, and the only one I have found has so many limitations, I was wondering if they are true or I can set them aside and run it with BD (in other words, maybe HFP also prevents for using with hot liquids...and with reductions, but it can be run with BD as in fact is has been doing)
We have 220v here.

The pump that we all use is not supposed to be used for hot liquids either , but they seem to do well with biodiesel . I have used one of the Harbor Freight pumps at 250f and it did not cause a failure . I would think that the pump in question will work fine as long as it is not a plastic pump or impeller .

Favor Angel mira este sitioThey are in 220V. Same pump as most of us use on this side of the pond.
And you can read up on the thread here.
They are easily reduced to 3/4" with no problems using a reducing bushing and a generous amount of plumbing tape.

Ok I am new, but have been watching this site for about 2 months.

Which is better a mixer or pump mixing. I am building a processor to do 200 gal or (without doing the math 800 liters) at a time. I have built a nice mixing unit run by an air motor and can get a nice vortex in the unit. I also have designed a pump to run at the same time to pump mix. Have I just cause an uneede redundant system? Thanks Doug from PA
