We have been having 95deg f for the last few days and the humidity is so thick you cant hardly walk through it. I put the dehumidifier in the shop. It dries my shop and bd quick, but the shop is about 5-10 degrees hotter then outside.
Get some quick dry epoxy and fix the tub on the dehunidifier and stop that leak... Good luck Jammer |

Solar still. Make box big enough to hold containers. Cover of box should be slanted with an "eves" at one end that leads out of the box (this is the drain) and covered with either glass or plexiglass(clear).Set out in the sun.
It will evaporate the water onto the slanted roof and then it will runoff into the drain. You can also set up a small 12V fan like those used in cars in one corner, but set it up so that the fan draws and not push the air. Just an idea. ** 7 engines on B100**My reactor/processor :B100WH.com **The Colaborative Biodiesel Tutorial ** Veggie Energy 4 Diesels -a Newcomer's Hardware Guide ** Biodiesel Glycerine Soap - Make & sell soap from Biodiesel Glycerine **The Ultimate Winter B100 System |

Hey Legal;
Great idea! Got any pics of how I should set up the drain though?? My brain doesn't quite 'see' how that should be yet Thanks! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel L You'd think I'd know better ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

It is the same principle as water distillation, only the container is deeper to accept the BD or the still itself can be made to have the BD sit in the bottom and the water evaporate off.
Water Distillation - PDF And then there's a repeat but the pics are clearer in the PDF one where you can enlarge. Html same thing This idea can combined with the Solar Cooker idea to come up with something that will do the job nicely. May take more than a couple hours but then no elctricity is used. You do have to watch out for high temps though as it will be getting quite hot in there. ** 7 engines on B100**My reactor/processor :B100WH.com **The Colaborative Biodiesel Tutorial ** Veggie Energy 4 Diesels -a Newcomer's Hardware Guide ** Biodiesel Glycerine Soap - Make & sell soap from Biodiesel Glycerine **The Ultimate Winter B100 System |

You may want to take a sample, dry it over the stove and run the 3/27 test on it for conversion. If it fails that could be one explaination why it is taking so long to dry. |

HI Rick;
Yeah, I could do that, but the humidity here has been INSANE!! My oil is the same stuff I always get; titrates right around the same number every time, and I've been using it for months with no problems; UNTIL this crazy humid weather started Anyway, I think I will try to build the solar dryer Thanks everyone! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1981 VW Rabbit Diesel L You'd think I'd know better ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
