I just talked with them last week about them stocking KOH now. They said that since many homebrewers are buying their methanol from them, they are going to start selling bags of KOH now

Not delivering to a residence has to do with the transportation insurance. Something about running trucks full of hazardous chemicals where people live makes insurance companies really nervous.

You can get them to deliver to a farm or a buddy's work.

If you are going to anyone other than Univar or Brenntag you are paying an extra middleman.

Someone (like Graydon?) needs to set up a national account with one of them. He could take advantage of the volume of a whole bunch of people, make a small admin fee and arrange delivery anywhere in the US or Canada.

I pick up all of my chemicals so the delivery part is not such a big deal. If I had the time to figure out the shipping rules I would add KOH to my website, http://www.FryerPower.com. I'm just too busy to mess with it right now.

Cost: $2.10 per gallon by the drum. I think it is $2.30 per gallon for smaller quantities
They will sell in their drum for a charge, otherwise bring your own good quality drum with good plugs.

For Europe I found a supplier called biodys for 99,85% methanol, 100% ethanol, KOH and NaOH.

Prices for bulk are reasonably low and they also deliver.

Pure KOH and NaOH per 100kg around EUR 200.
Methanol 99,85% between EUR 0,75 and EUR 1 per kg (which is more than 1 liter) depending on day price
Pure Ethanol EUR 1,50 per liter.
