bigroy, Here is the company I got it from. Looks like the Mobile, Al is the closest you to you.

They have a sliding price scale starting at #3.25/gal going to $2.25/gal for 1000 gal. Their policy is that they will give you the discount if you pay for the quantity at time of purchase and you can take possession 1 gal at a time if you want to, of course they get to keep your money in the meantime.

Very nice people to deal with and they understand biodiesel.

Offered 2.75/gal in a 55 gal drum methanol from a distributor based out of Corpus Cristi Tx. You'd think it would be dirt cheap buying it straight from the cow....i guess not. New to bioD...not to WVO or the boards. After years of lurking....i'm in whole hog.

In southern Utah/ northern Arizona, best price I know of for methanol is $150 for 55 gal drum at Petroleum Wholesalers(formerly Holt Petroleum Products) 895 N. Industrial Rd., St. Geo, UT.
Having a hard time finding decent price on bulk KOH to pick-up around here. Otherwise getting hosed on shipping fees.

Just quoted $42 for 15gal meth from (New England Racing Fuel, Inc, 271 Spielman Hwy, Burlington, CT 06013, Hours: M_F 8am to 4pm, Ph:860-673-1443) for pickup. Think also has 6% tax on top, no special documents asked for. Later. They should also have
5&50 gal sizes. MY BAD. Confirming this AM before I left to get it, price was for 5 gal container. Will look around local somemore.

Hey New englanders
just got a 55 gal drum of methanol from Taurus lubricants in Lowell, MA for $185. The owner also sells NaOH/KOH and is very interested in supplying the Biodiesel community. He will even deliver as far south as RI(where I live) if he has an order of at least 3 barrels. So, it's an opportunity for people to get together on supply needs.

I got a quote of $167/55gal here in Worcester from Schultz Lubricants. Plus a $20 barrel charge unless you can swap a good shape barrel the salesman said. That price was 2 weeks ago.

I called Taurus in Lowell in August and the guy didn't seem to interested and had only one barrel to sell. His price was around that $185... I can't remember exactly.
Do you think they would do a multi drop delivery? ie: 5 of us order at the same time getting a better price then deliver to different locations?? I doubt it... might be worth a try.

Has anyone heard that at local airports they drain the fuel from planes but can't re-use it? The guy I was talking to seemed to think that 100% meth was used as well as high octane gasoline. Like wvo he said that they had to pay to have it hauled away.

Is this fact or urban myth??

just had a heart attach re: price of methanol. In Billings Montana, this spring I bought a 55 gal drum from Brenntag chemical co, at about $4.20 per gal. Yesterday, they sent me a letter stating the price is now $7.01 per gal? What gives? I don't know of any other source anywhere close. Kend
