I found a hardware store that sells 18oz bottles for $5.00.

How does that price sound? average, high???

When I was buying Red Devil a few months ago I paid $2.89 for the same bottle (at my grocery store; next to the Drano). I've recently scaled up and bought 50lbs NaOH for $34.00 at a chemical warehouse supplying the swimming pool cleaning industry.

It's a farm chemical supply store.
They also have 55 gallon drums of methanol for $120 delivered..

Well, you've got me on the NaOH. But I've got you on the MeOH - $101.50 for a 55gal drum. I guess we're too far apart to form a COOP.

Just some performance auto shop in Medford. I really doubt they do shipping though. Poke around at performance auto and race car supply places near you, I just called one place in the phone book and found it.
