I'm making a 40 gallon batch and I load my methoxide by gravity. Everything is working fine, but I can't get the last half gallon to transfer in. I've checked the check valve, and that's working. I've tried closing the oil valve from the tank, and that worked a little, but the rest won't go. I'm using a standard appleseed processor.

I too use an appleseed. Make sure your vent up top is open when you transfer the methoxide in. The vent on the methoxide container open, and then open the valve in front of the check valve slightly to cause a suction...

At least this works for me...maybe I gave you some ideas.

Yes, both vents must be open to add methoxide.

If that does not work, it means that your pump is not working, or there is some flaw in your design preventing you pump from creating suction.
