Excess methanol in the finished bio would allow glycerin to remain in suspension. I am using a GL processor and circulated the finished bio for 2 hours at 90C. It should have dried and removed any methanol. However, after transfering to the settling tank I could smell the methanol vapors. (Reactor is outside and I know they are harmful.)
If all of the methanol is evaporated of, it should cause of all of the glycerin to drop out?
What effect would excess NaOH in the reaction cause in the finished bio?

thanks, CC

Hello customcutter

Within reason, "Excess" NaOH in the reaction will increase conversion and produce more soap
