I now prefer to let the BD settle for two weeks before decanting into storage or vehicles. I have had poor luck washing in cold weather (just ending), and so now I prefer to let it settle as long as possible, then decant only the top half from the settling tank. Settling for a couple weeks is less frustrating than trying to clear-up residual cloudiness, or worse yet DRS, which takes about as long. Mist washing worked best for me, especially when I tried heating the mist water. Note that my water is very alkaline, and daytime temperatures are cool.

I tried washing, using the bubble wash technique mentioned on JTF, and ended up with Chicken soup- really bad. Tried acid, and mixing extra water, ect., I won't be using that technique again... to many things to go wrong and too much time expended.
