Just wanted to tell folks about the Biodiesel Logging website.

It was created by a forum member here & I host it for free for the group. It has all sorts of different variables you can track in it and you can compare your results to others.

It's cheap (read FREE!), easy to use, and best of all it was peer reviewed by many of you here.

I haven't been on the forums much lately (mostly due to school). I just noticed a burst of new members starting on the 7th, and now I know why.

Anyways, I thought I'd share some information about the site. I'm in the process of making yet another completely new site layout. There's a few reasons why I'm doing this..

1) Even though I love the layout that another member here made for this site, I am making a new layout with much less images. This way the site will load super quick, and will be much better for people on dial-up. (The new layout I'm making isn't ugly however, so don't worry about that )

2) Another reason is.. the current layout is a bit too restrictive for my likes. Right now, if you try to add Notes for examples to your batches.. if you make them too long, it messes up the layout of the site.

And along with the new layout will come many new features. I'm about to be on Christmas break, so I'll be kicking it in gear when that happens and hopefully have the new layout complete.

I use the log all the time. In fact, I've used it for every batch since I graduated up from the Dr. Pepper method.

It's very interesting to go back in the log and watch how the titration numbers change for each of my two main suppliers of WVO. They've been fairly consistant, but a change over time could tip me off to a problem with titration solution or issues at the source that need to be addressed.

And I love how entering the cost of supplies and current petrodiesel prices gives me a running tally of the money I've saved making biodiesel. (Bonus: When ordering the latest goodies from Graydon I can avoid spousal skepticism by clicking on over to the Biodiesel Log. "See Honey, it's an investment.")
