Is there a consensus in this forum regarding percentanges in formulas? When specifying a percentage of methanol to use in a batch, is the percentage of the total batch or of the WVO. For example, if I'm processing 8L of WVO, should I use 2L or 1.6L of methanol for 20%?

Hi Patrick

20% should read 100/20/4.5+

100 litres oil
20 litres methanol
4.5 pluss grams caustic soda

I have a supply of clean used oil, so I use 100/13/4.5+

Regards

Thanks Dhill! How did you determine that 13% was sufficient concentration for your stock?
