The solution you are looking at would work IF there were only two points to be concerned with, but the area(s) most likely to gel up first are not the fuel tank, but the lines and filters as that is where the lightest concentration of biodiesel is found.

I would also just mention that lots of fuel tanks are plastic and most heat tapes are not designed with that in mind. Don't melt a hole in your tank or burn your vehicle down to the ground.
Also, most heat tapes are NOT designed to operate under insulation. It can get complicated. HTH, troy |
